William R. Bieler

Bill Bieler is a fifth-generation Montanan. His family has been in Montana since his distant uncle, William Fairweather, discovered gold in Alder Gulch in 1863. William R. Bieler Bill and his six siblings were raised on a small ranch outside of Alder. He attended school in nearby Sheridan.

Bill left Sheridan to attend Gonzaga University on an academic scholarship. He graduated magna cum laude in 1995 with degrees in biology and political science. He returned to Montana to attend the University of Montana School of Law. He graduated from law school with honors in 1998.

Following law school Bill stayed in Missoula and from 1998 to 2006 worked at the Williams Law Firm. His practice there focused exclusively on civil litigation and insurance matters. This was a great opportunity to handle a variety of complex cases from inception through trial. He has also handled numerous appeals to the Montana Supreme Court.

In 2006 Bill and his wife Tracy decided to resume the small-town lifestyle they grew up with, and moved to Choteau. Although his current practice in Choteau is more general in nature, he still focuses primarily on litigation and trial work for people involved in insurance disputes or who have been injured or damaged by the wrongful acts of others.

Outside of work Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He enjoys archery hunting, fishing, and hunting upland birds behind his Drahthaar dogs.
